RYVN is the collaborative project between Ryan Hatch and Ryan Leitenberger. They first met each other on SoundCloud when they were 15, which was around the same time that they had both started producing music. Fast forward 5 years, they have grown exponentially and have had several hit tracks worldwide. With over 20 tracks to come out next year, they very well might be one of the biggest names in the EDM scene soon. We are meeting these two inventive creatives for a little insight into their musical journey.
1 In Music: How would you describe your music?
[RYVN]: Our music is not limited to one genre, and uses sounds nobody has heard before. We make a great effort to produce music that sounds entirely original and makes the listener instantly fall in love with what they hear. Being different is very important to us and is to a certain degree, why I think we are successful.
1 In Music: What/who shaped your music and who supports you?
[RYVN]: We definitely got inspiration from artists such as Avicii, Illenium, and Martin Garrix. Elements similar to theirs can be heard in some of our tracks for sure. Our music has also been supported and played by many big names, such as The Chainsmokers and Showtek.
1 In Music: When did you realise you were going to make music professionally?
[RYVN]: We never had a goal to make it professionally, it just sort of happened over time. All we really cared about was making music that we found catchy and that we loved. Eventually, when our songs started getting millions of streams, we realized we could turn this into a career.
1 In Music: What type of music do you listen to?
[RYVN]: We listen to everything from dubstep and trap, to pop and rap. We appreciate all styles of music and enjoy each genre in a different way. All types of music have something unique to offer.
1 In Music: Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?
[RYVN]: I have recently been listening to a very low-key rapper named Kevin Adler. His stuff sounds like it is going to go viral any minute. We appreciate smaller artists and watching like to watch them grow. I definitely think this guy is on the verge of having a hit!
1 In Music: How do you prepare for your performances?
[RYVN]: We just hype each other up and give the best show that we can possibly can.
1 In Music: What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
[RYVN]: We both love to play soccer and play video games. One of us is a computer science major and the other a business major.
1 In Music: Success to you is…?
[RYVN]: Success is when someone puts our song on replay in the car because they can’t get enough of it. We also love fan mail saying how a specific song has made them felt.
1 In Music: What do you wish you were told when you started out and that you think would help anyone who starts out?
[RYVN]: Be confident in your music and understand that there is an audience for everything. It takes time for people to discover you, but if you stay consistent and truly devote a lot of time to your craft, your fans will find you.
1 In Music: Any upcoming projects?
[RYVN]: We have about 20 songs coming up next year, all backed by really good labels. We really can’t wait for our fans to hear what we have been up to.
1 In Music: Where do we find you music / music project?
[RYVN]: We can be found just about anywhere! Type us in on google, youtube, or any music streaming platform and we’ll be there!
