by | Mar 19, 2024

Meet Belle Lundon

Belle Lundon is a multifaceted artist excelling in the realms of music, acting, and songwriting. Born and raised amidst the vibrant culture of New Orleans, Louisiana, Belle’s artistic journey began to flourish when she relocated to Houston, Texas. Her passion for music and performing arts led her to pursue formal training at the prestigious California Institute of the Arts, situated in the creative hub of Valencia, California.

In 2016, Belle’s talent garnered widespread recognition when she emerged victorious in a music competition sponsored by Coca-Cola. This triumph catapulted her onto the illustrious stage of the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, where she mesmerized audiences with her soul-stirring rendition of “He Wants It All” by Forever Jones. Not content with covering others’ works, Belle embarked on her own creative endeavors, penning and recording the poignant track “My Soul to Keep,” which earned her the esteemed W.A.M. Awards for Best Gospel Song in 2020.

Beyond her musical achievements, Belle’s artistic prowess extends to the silver screen, with her upcoming film “The Other Side of Infinity” poised for release in the summer of 2024. While she calls Houston home for her music ventures, Belle frequently traverses to Los Angeles for television and film projects, showcasing her versatility as a performer.

A true artist at heart, Belle finds fulfillment in sharing her music with audiences far and wide. With aspirations to embark on global tours, she remains committed to crafting an authentic lifestyle rooted in integrity, success, and happiness.

1 In Music: What is unique about you and your music?

Belle LundonI write all my lyrics. Everything I write about are my raw emotions and from real experiences. I am always writing and journaling. My mind never rests unfortunately…unless it’s a Sunday. Then my thoughts are usually drowned out by the loudness of my family! I have a very loud family.

1 In Music: What or who shaped your music and who supports you?

James Brown taught me to be free during my performances. Michael Jackson taught me to never be contained to one genre. Grace Jones taught me that it’s okay to be a little strange. I really could go on and on about other artists…. But I honestly love doing my own thing! I don’t have any sponsors, any connections in the industry nor am I related to anyone famous. I just started my working relationship with my manager, Michael Stover, and he really believes in me. In less than a month, I was able to chart #12 on the iTunes Pop Chart for my song Space Cadet (Remix)! I’m very excited to work with him & MTS management. I’m also excited that I have talented producers who believe in my ability. It’s always nice to have a team of believers…my bandmates definitely keep me going!

1 In Music: When did you realise you were going to make music professionally?

I realized I wanted to do music professionally after listening to MJ’s “History” album. I loved the messages in the lyrics and MJ’s freedom to never be contained in one genre. I used to write MJ at 8 years old, telling him that I was going to be his “Queen of Pop”. I need to ask my Pops if he actually mailed those letters. I think he did because I once got a letter from Epic Records when I told them about being the next “Queen of Pop”. They wrote back and said to keep singing…so I never stopped (singing)!

1 In Music: What type of music do you listen to?

I honestly can’t stick to one genre. It depends on how I’m feeling. I mostly listen to Pop, Gospel and R&B.

1 In Music: Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?

There are quite a few undiscovered gems that are from my hometown in New Orleans. You can find them performing in the French Quarters. Their love of music radiates throughout the city and it causes people to dance in the streets!

1 In Music: How do you prepare for your performances?

Belle LundonSimple: I pray.

1 In Music: What other creative activity do you do that you are passionate about?

I love acting. I can’t even begin to describe how freeing it feels to step out of your world and become someone else. I’m a bit of a method actor so I eat, sleep, drink the characters I take on.

1 In Music: Success to you is…?

To be able to be of service to others and help those in need. To be paid off my passions.

1 In Music: What do you wish you were told when you started out and that you think would help anyone who starts out?

In this industry, it’s important to find good people to share your art with. It is important to find trustworthy people that you can connect with.

1 In Music: Any upcoming projects?

There’s ALWAYS going to be upcoming projects. I don’t believe in quitting. I’ll be 100 years old still doing music and film! My next film release is called “Other Side of Infinity”(written, directed  & produced by James P Lay) which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and will be playing at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. I also have plenty more music projects coming out soon.
