This wasn’t just a concert; it was a vibrant celebration of community and passion, where 450 musicians, spanning generations and continents, converged to create an unforgettable experience.
CITYROCKS, hailed as Central Europe’s largest rock band, transcends traditional musical boundaries. Their ethos is simple yet powerful: to bring together professional and amateur musicians, fostering a sense of belonging and shared love for rock music. And this year’s event in Kecskemét amplified that mission, proving that music truly knows no borders.
A popular endeavour
The newly released concert videos, now circulating on social media, capture the raw energy and sheer scale of the event. From the youngest 7-year-old drummer to the seasoned 74-year-old guitarist, the stage was a melting pot of talent and enthusiasm. One of the most spectacular highlights was the “rock” truck parade, a spectacle unlike any other. Imagine 100 drummers, singers, and guitarists rocking out on three mobile stages, weaving through the streets of Kecskemét. CITYROCKS: Setlist

Ferenc Gajda, the driving force behind CITYROCKS, emphasized the importance of community and live music. “We have a strong rock music culture that cannot be ignored,” he stated. “Our mission is to celebrate live music, rock music, and instrumental music—the tangible, flesh-and-blood rock and roll.” He highlighted the online community that connects nearly 1,500 musicians, fostering real-world collaborations and band formations. “For musicians in small villages, who might play alone, we provide an unforgettable experience,” Gajda explained, underscoring the event’s transformative impact.
