1 In Music: Hi Pangky Perks.Thank you for agreeing to this interview. Let us start from the top. What do you think makes your music unique?

Pangky Perks [PP]: The music I make is uplifting music. It is built with a mix of bass and synthesizer. It encompasses big build ups and big drops. It all makes it unique and very suitable for playing in clubs or parties.

1 In Music: What or who shaped your music and who supports you?

PP: I have been playing music since I was young. I first learned to play the guitar at the age of 7. That’s when I first fell in love with music. I then joined Punk, Emo and metal bands. I dabbled in those different genres until finally, I made EDM music.

I am supported by fellow musicians and my family. My family encourages me to keep making music, especially my wife.

1 In Music: So, in all these stages of your music discover, at what point did you realise you were going to make music professionally?

PP: After I finished college, I started thinking about my options. It was between working as an employee and focusing on being a musician. Music is my passion and I could imagine being bored working in an office. I knew that working as a musician had many obstacles.

Uncertain income makes people rethink about becoming a musician. But music makes me happy and I have to keep going. What is the meaning of life if we are not happy? Happiness is the most important thing to me.

Music can pay the bill. Een though it’s not much, especially for musicians who are just starting over from scratch like me at least, it is enough. My choice, as you guess, was to remain as a musician. That’s where I started seriously my career in music.

1 In Music: What type of music do you listen to?

PP: I listen to various music. They vary from Pop, to Rock, to Metal, to EDM, depending on my mood. But lately, I’ve been listening to Porter Robinson a lot.

1 In Music: Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?

Pangky Perks: For me, the most underrated artist is Phritz. Although he is not in the same genre as mine, I can still appreciate the fact that his songs and the way he composes the notes are extraordinary. He is not very well known unfortunately but he is definitely worth checking out.

1 In Music: And we will, thanks. How do you prepare for your performances?

PP: I try to relax by meditating, taking a hot shower and getting ready to make the world dance.

1 In Music: What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

PP: I keep thinking that maybe I will also become a photographer. Photography is my other passion besides making music.

1 In Music: Success to you is…?

PP: Success for me is when I can continue to work in music and listeners like what I make. It’s all about persistence.

1 In Music: What do you wish you were told when you started out and that you think would help anyone who starts out?

PP:

Don’t think too much and be afraid to move forward. Get rid of your fears. Act more boldly.

1 In Music: Any upcoming projects?

PP: I am releasing my first single as a music producer and DJ. The single is entitled Recapture and I am dropping it on 11.11.2022.

1 In Music: Thank you for your time and for answering our questions. Last question: Where can we find your music?

PP: Instagram and and all music platform on 11/11/22
