Multi-genre singer/songwriter D. FRANCISCO is a true artist who has successfully melded old-world charm with vivacious Latin-Pop. Unlike the trend-driven experiences of most artists his age, D. FRANCISCO has honed his craft through years of diligent training and commitment. From his early instrumental lessons and exposure to opera and symphony; through touring with the celebrated Phoenix Boys Choir; private and undergraduate vocal studies culminating in an opera internship in Rome, Italy; and finally additional vocal training with the eminent Seth Riggs, D. FRANCISCO has created a proficient foundation that is reflected in his stunning and unique merging of Operatic-Pop, Latin-Pop, and EDM. 1 In Music met him:
1inmusic: Hi and thank you for joining us. Talk to us about you and your music. What makes it all unique?

1inMusic: What shaped your music and who supports you?
D. FRANCISCO: My music is definitely shaped by the various genres I love, and I’m blessed with friends, family, and loved ones who are very supportive and encouraging.
1inmusic: When did you realise you were going to make music professionally?
D. FRANCISCO: I promised myself that if I should be a tenor after my voice change, I’d pursue a professional singing career.
1inmusic: What type of music do you listen to?
D. FRANCISCO: I love many different genres of music, so it’s quite an eclectic mix.
1inmusic: Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?
D. FRANCISCO: Unfortunately, there are so many talented vocalists and musicians who are undervalued. It’s impossible to name just one or two, and perhaps unfair to them to even do so.
1inmusic: How do you prepare for your performances?
D. FRANCISCO: The day of, I keep relaxed. It’s important to be well rested to maintain a high energy for the performance. I also avoid eating any heavy or spicy foods, as well as any dairy products and alcohol, beforehand as these can make you feel sluggish.
1inmusic: What ignites your (song) writing flow?
D. FRANCISCO: Music inspires many emotions, and reciprocally, I must be feeling an intense emotion of some sort in order to be inspired to create the lyrics and music to a song.
1inmusic: What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
D. FRANCISCO: I love to read, travel, dance, horseback ride, and ski. I also love food, which means many hours in the gym to counterbalance this!
1inmusic: Success to you is…
D. FRANCISCO: … Planning your work, working your plan, and then attaining or surpassing the desired outcome.
1inmusic: What do you wish you were told when you started out and that you think would help anyone who starts out?
D. FRANCISCO: Be prepared for it to take more time to get where you want to get, and that opportunities come in ways that were unexpected.
1inmusic: Any upcoming projects?
D. FRANCISCO: Yes, my debut album comes out sometime in November, so keep posted!
