1 In Music: Welcome UTE, and thank you for being with us. Let’s start with: What do you think is unique about you and your music?
UTE [U]:
I like to stay positive and I want the listeners to hear and feel this in my music. My music it very personal without being sidetracked by trendy things or “the next the hip thing to do” kind of stuff. what you see is what you get.
1 In Music: What or who shaped your music and who supports you?
U: As a music lover of all kinds of genres I am sure that I shaped by a lot of great singers and entertainers over the years.
But, 2020 and 2021 has made me become even more personal in my music and lyrics. Those years have caused my a lot of pain and forced me to be extra strong to become an even bigger ambassador of hope.
1 In Music: When did you realise you were going to make music professionally?
U: It was clear to me very early on in my life that singing and music will be the way to go for me.
In my documentary “UTE: Music Makes My Fly“, I explained the many stages of how I choose music as my life.
1 In Music: What type of music do you listen to?
U: I listen to all different types of music. It just depends what kind of mood I am in. I also like to explore and find new kind of music.
1 In Music: Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?
U: Probably all of the ones that are putting their heart and soul into their dreams and passion.
1 In Music: How do you prepare for your performances?
U: Not too much. More mentally than vocally, I would say. Since I practice many hours every day, I just do some basic warm up exercises before a performance.
1 In Music: What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?: I am in love with my two dogs. They give me a lot of energy and they help me to get mind straight when this goes crazy.
1 In Music: Success to you is…?
U:
[Success for me is] the ability to create more music and grow, and become better at it along the way.
1 In Music: What do you wish you were told when you started out and that you think would help anyone who starts out?
U: “No” doesn’t alway mean “No“.
Try to separate the haters from the people that have your best interest in mind, It can be confusing at times.
1 In Music: Any upcoming projects?
U: Yes, my new documentary “UTE: Keeping The Spirit” and It’s soundtrack with the same title will be released soon in the coming months.
