Opening Old Wounds – The debut album by Lily Gonzales
Lily Gonzalez is in demand as a singer/percussionist most recently seen performing at the Rewind Festival alongside legends of the 80s. Lily releases her debut album in the Summer of 2017 (Aug 1st) which she is delighted to have co-written with singer-songwriter Nik Kershaw (Wouldn’t It Be Good) and saxophonist Andy Hamilton (George Michael, Radiohead). The album is already garnering strong praise from fans and critics alike, who have been waiting for this talented artist to create, put her stamp on and release her own music offering.
The 6-track album belongs in this century but seems to have accents of multiple decades. Lily’s voice gives the album a warmth and energy only she can. Every song is different, every arrangement original and the whole thing is asking to be savoured with openmindedness.
Tracks have already have airplay on the likes of BBC, Soho Radio, Radio DIVA and Canalside Radio’s own I Write The Songs #128 (first aired on Canalside Radio on the 17th of Sep 2017) and the excitement is propagating.
