The Don Kap aka “THE DON” is an American Israeli Rapper from the Bronx. The Hip Hop artist is on a mission to expose the Fakes who he feels have been invading the integrity of the Music Industry. With the #BYEBYEFAKES hashtag, his films and his music, he is fighting with aggressive passion to make dishonest sounds a thing of the past. 1 In Music met with the aspiring debunker of Fakes in the Arts industry.
1 In Music: Hi The Don, what fuels your artistic passion? What kind of person is behind the music and the films?
I sniff out fake people and I expose them. I’m Impulsive and short tempered. I will raise hell on you if you disrespect me. I have a Masters degree in Film and I’ve already Written, Directed, and Produced a Movie coming to theatres this summer titled SEX AND THE FUTURE. My songs content are either about theories of mine, conspiracies, or s***ting on a fake person. I write all my s*** and I pick out all the beats I lease out. I can come up with a banger song in probably one hour from the moment I start listening to it to the moment the hook and all verses are written.
1 In Music: What/who shaped your music and who supports you?
The lonely Island, Future, Pitbull, and probably Rihanna. Donald Trump supports me and I support him.
1 In Music: Well that is different. So when exactly did you realise you were going to make music professionally?
Age 14. I had obtained a laptop and I wrote my first song over a beat I got online titled “F***, F***, F***.” From there it was onto self-filmed music videos on a s***ty camera and then into studying film in college and then making the entire soundtrack to my movie that is coming out this summer.
1 In Music: What type of music do you listen to?
Obviously Rap Lmao Lol, but also Soft House, Salsa, and Arabian Lounge.
1 In Music: Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?
Me. I’ve been telling my friends for years. The music industry is all bulls***. Everyone is on auto-tune nowadays and it honestly just comes down to getting your hands on a dope beat (which I now have the resources to do) and then making a catchy hook. The verse is just meat on the bones you feel me.
1 In Music: How do you prepare for your performances?
I don’t perform my music Live. I do stand up and speeches instead.
1 In Music: What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
I eat hamburgers. I play tennis with my gay tennis instructor who hits on me (lol).
1 In Music: Success to you is…?
Success to me is My Grandma humming my s***.
1 In Music: Unlike many of our interviewees, you had no help starting out, no advice?
No one told me s***. I know everything on my own from reading.
1 In Music: Any upcoming projects?
I just released “MY NAME MEANS STRONG IN HEBREW” It’s a 3-song LP about playing games, heartbreak, and exposition of fakes. I have a 13-song album (still untitled atm) coming out in May with fire beats.
1 In Music: Where do we find you music / music project?
I’m on Spotify, Soundcloud, Datpiff. My premier music video “CANNOT LISTEN” is up on Youtube and Vimeo.
THE FAKES WILL BE EXPOSED. #BYEBYEFAKES
