Ravenscroft is an American band from Orange County, California. The group is made of four seasoned musicians, Ralph Buso on Vocals, Brett Gorke on Guitars, Devin Baker on Bass and Pat Magrath on Drums. The band members individual backgrounds and eclectic educations come together to present the listener with handsomely crafted and delivered melodic alternative rock.
Ravenscroft’s music is a melodic, hard-hitting Rock that comes from the soul. Their sound is derived from what can only be referred to as “the very Best of Old School meets New School Hard Rock”, more precisely, Black Sabbath meets Tool, Drowning Pool meets Shinedown, Creed meets Godsmack. The band’s music is all at once very familiar, very new, original and cutting-edge!
Woven into a majestic tapestry of rich vocals, guitar, bass and rhythmic electric energy, listeners are instantly drawn to and curious to hear and see where this music goes, and are invited to enjoy the ride.
Ravenscroft introduces their six-song EP, entitled Rebel, set to be released January 2018.
1InMusic got to listen to the pre-released singles The Chase and the ballad My Dearest One. The style of these music lovers transpires in these two songs. My Dearest One by Ravenscroft is a pleasant sound from vocals to introducing guitars taking you progressively and expertly into the rocking instrumentation of the guitar solo with style towards the middle of the track. The ballad leaves a sonically satisfying and calming after-taste even with the rocking touches. The Chase is the complete opposite in tempo and energy. While there is a dynamism in the vocals of the previous song, the energy here is undeniable. The solos, drums and vocals are more aggressive but do not lose any of their sense of melody while making a definite point, a difficult mix to achieve. This leaves us with two singles that definitely invite curiosity towards the rest of the EP. Find out more about the EP on the band’s official website at…
