As an artist originating from Ocean County New Jersey, raised in Las Vegas, Tommy brings a sense of originality to the table as he expresses how he feels in every song. Gaining the city’s attention, Tommy took the opportunity through his peers to deliver amazing performances at March Madness, Roll The Dice, and Foolish Nights. 1 In Music meets an artist who advocates creating through the heart, and puts his soul into everything he does.
It is with candour that Tommy reveals “In the past months I’ve been dealing with my own mental health issues. Recording has been hard, but I’m back and ready to give you guys what you all have been asking for.. MORE MUSIC!” before answeringthr questions that give an insight to the artist and hid music.
1 In Music: What is unique about you and your music?
Tommy [T]: I feel like the originality in my music is displayed within my different flows, beat choice, and lastly the overall vibe to each and every track. Some of my most unique tracks would have to be my newest release “Cupid“. I love that songs and all the different instruments included in the beat.
1 In Music: What or who shaped your music and who supports you?
T: Mainly my emotions have mainly shaped my music into what I present to my audience today. I’m beyond fortunate to receive support from my family, my loving girlfriend, all of my friends, and the community of Las Vegas! I give a lot of credit to “Drake” as he inspired me to start making music.
1 In Music: When did you realise you were going to make music professionally?
T: In 2017, I started my journey into the music world. Beforehand I was interested in Environmental Sciences. Since then I fell in love with music and shifted my life to be based around that. Once I made my first song it was almost like I couldn’t put the headphones down!
1 In Music: What type of music do you listen to?
T: I listen to a whole bunch of different genres and artists, mainly being HipHop, R&B and Alternative! I love Drake, Bon Iver, Tory Lanez, Juice Wrld, Weeknd, etc..
1 In Music: Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?
T: Selfishly, I think that I am the most undervalued music artist right now!… Nothing to do but to change that haha!
1 In Music: How do you prepare for your performances?
T: There really is no preparation for how a performance will go. As long as I make sure I don’t get intoxicated beforehand, drink plenty of water, practice breathing exercises and do my best to entertain the crowd and I’ve completed a job well done.
1 In Music: What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
T: When I’m not creating, I usually tend to get out and live so that I have more to write about. No bother writing songs with no direction or nothing to talk about, so I GET OUT THERE!
1 In Music: Success to you is…?
T: Success to me is reaching a fanbase that will love my music, whether it’s the whole world, or a whole city. As long as I can make a difference in someone’s life, I’ve reached success! Also money, I like money..
1 In Music: What do you wish you were told when you started out and that you think would help anyone who starts out?
T: Something I wish someone told me when I first started would be that money goes further than talent. If you have talent then it needs some sort of funding so your work can be put in front of people! Also I would have said to finish every song that you start, even if it isn’t your favorite song of yours.
1 In Music: Any upcoming projects?
T: I’m working on music as we speak. Hopefully to bring you a mix-tape by the summer. I have a lot of oldies, and new music on the way. You will hear me this year!
1 In Music: Where do we find you music / music project?
T: You can easily find my music by searching any of my social medias (@allontommy). Or if you type in my name along with one of my song names (ex: Tommy Cupid, Tommy, Stay in)
