Goldee Heart’s interest in music, and specifically in piano, began at the early age of seven. By age eleven, Goldee joined his first band as a keyboardist performing in local nightclubs, and later throughout the East Coast corridor. After performing with several local groups he released his first recording,
“Give Me A Minute.” Circumstances influenced the self-contained and introspective artist of today, creating a blend of urban R&B and pop which is unique to this artist who has produced his recordings utilizing multi-track layers of his own performances with a variety of influences.
Goldee Heart is a publisher and writer member of The American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), a recipient of two Virginia R&B Independent Artist Awards. He is also 1st Place Winner of American Idol Underground R&B On Demand Competition. On December 11, 2015 for a 4thd time Goldee reached Number One on Richmond,Va Reverbnation Pop Charts. On February 18, 2016 Goldee Heart reached Number One on the Euro Indie Music Charts. Today we are meeting him to find out more about the artist.
1inmusic: What is unique about you and your music?
Goldee Heart (GH): You know there has been a lot covered in music and there is so much out there that I just may not be aware of.
I don’t really try to keep up with everything because there’s so much. That makes me reluctant to say there’s anything I know is unique.
I do prefer to keep it uplifting, fun and happy for the most part.
1inMusic: What shaped your music and who supports you?
GH: I would have to say Top 40 Music from the 70’s,80’s and 90’s. This is attributed to my participation in Cover Bands.
My feelings at the time I create something contributes a lot to the shaping of what I present as well. As far as support I’m pretty much self contained at this point with Music Production. I do have a company that is doing Radio Promotion at the moment.
1inmusic: When did you realise you were going to make music professionally?
GH: My Uncle managed a Band when I was 7 Years old. I attended some rehearsals and I believe it was then. It had a great impact on me watching that. I was fixed on the Organ Player because my Grandmother had a piano in her house where I lived at the time so I knew I had access.
1inmusic: What type of music do you listen to?
GH: Normally I listen to Smooth Jazz when I do listen these days. Keeps me calm. Lately not much of anything to try to keep any channels open to complete my next project.
1inmusic: Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?
GH: …Goldee Heart =)
1inmusic: How do you prepare for your performances?
GH: I Mentally Focus for a day or two on the material. The Band I perform with also has a few rehearsals prior but we’re very familiar with our show.
1inmusic: What ignites your (song) writing flow?
GH: You know I think it’s mostly ignited by something I want. Could be anything you know Love, Affection, need something from the store. LOL! I think I’ve written under other influences but that seems to be the most memorable at the moment.]
1inmusic: What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
GH: I have an IT Background. I do Websites and some database design which interests me. I like spending time with my Family.
1inmusic: Success to you is…
GH: …Being Happy most of the time. Having at least what you need. Not necessarily what you want.
1inmusic: What do you wish you were told when you started out and that you think would help anyone who starts out?
GH: You’re going to fail. Just try again. I started so young and always had so much love and support from people I met at that time.”

GH: I’m in the process of completing The AfterMath CD.
