In the past, music creation could be as simple as grabbing a guitar and an SM58 microphone then pressing record on your favorite 4 track. However, at Moan Barrow Productions, we utilize a mixture of real instruments, the most modern Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), the latest VST plugins with some of the highest tech microphones in the industry.
With so much articulation in technology, Moan Barrow Productions brings to life your imagination. All that is needed is your idea.
1 In Music: What would you say is unique about Moan Barrow Productions [MBP]?
MBP: We are a company that both produces music and scores for movies and documentaries. Moan Barrow is a fictitious band that we use as a conduit to promote our 90’s Rock sound. Moan Barrow is really just one person, that is Brian Jones. Brian is the owner of Moan Barrow Productions LLC.
1 In Music: So you only do 90s Rock?
MBP: 90’s Rock Shaped the “Moan Barrow” sound, but we do production work for all genres.
1 In Music: How do you conceive your music?
MBP: I just envision them and use my wife and family as my inspiration
1 In Music: And when did your professional music journey all start?
MBP: I have been in the music industry for over 30 years. I cut my first record in 1986 when I played the keyboards for a rock band I was in named Matinee. The song was Hollywood Rose. Todd Mcdowell sang it.
1 In Music: I feel I might be able to guess the type of music you listen to…
MBP: 90s Rock and all Rock Music.
1 In Music: So when you are not producing music, what else would you be doing that you are passionate about?
MBP: I score music for documentaries and movies. I just finished scoring a movie called “Holes in the Sky“. I scored almost 2 full hours of music. Ash Hamilton does the production. The movie will be released in the Fall of 2021.
1 In Music: What do you wish you were told when you started out and that you think would help anyone who starts out?
MBP: I wish I were told that it would be way more work
and your natural talent would only carry about 15%
of what you need to be successful.
1 In Music: Yep. So, to you, who would be the most undervalued music artists or bands?
MBP: Heart and/or Kansas
1 In Music: Success to you is…?
MBP: Success is the end result of much hard work and being happy with your finished product.
